I said i put my trust in man, and i am sure many reading this would say "oh he has not read his bible", "GOD is going to teach him a lesson", bla bla bla bla bla. I really enjoy watching the faces of religious people when you say things that their minds have not been programmed to comprehend. Their reaction would make great compilations for the YouTube generation.
I love yanking the chain of religious people, i find it more exciting knowing GOD also takes time out to laugh as well. Oh yes i said it again. I am sure they just went "this guy has no respect for GOD, HE said GOD laughs at people"
GOD laughs, HE cries, HE loves, HE gets angry, HE forgives, HE is very emotional and the best part is HE actually knows HIS own people.
Back on track, religious people make me laugh a lot. Most times i feel sorry for them, and even pray that GOD opens the eyes of their mind.
I have said "religious" people, but the ones i don't play around with are "spiritually aware" people.
Oh , let me enlighten you. Since you have read this far, you might as well finish.
Religious people try to find GOD, Spiritually Aware people are those GOD found.
Now back to my trust in man. I'll take you to a statement of truth which was truly stated by JESUS, when he said "be as wise as serpents, but as gentle as doves".
Since HE mentioned the acquisition of being as wise as the serpent first before being as gentle as a dove, lets take a walk in being wise as a serpent by knowing it.
Friend, in my pious state of being religious , how am i meant to be as wise as a serpent? But with spiritual awareness i can tell you a thing or two about serpents.
They know their prey, they move in on the prey with out a sound or warning, their intention is to kill and eat the prey, which means they are focused and purposeful, they know they can't kill bigger prey by curling around them so they strike with venom which paralyses the prey. They move within the grass for camouflage, using the grass, leafs and sand as a cover for their purpose.
Oh yes, a serpent is smart. Very smart. JESUS wanted me to know the serpent. HE wanted me to know what it is and be a master in its ways in order to be "as wise" as it.
HE mentioned being gentle as a dove as an overriding addendum, which means though being gentle as a dove is the last thing to do when given a choice to either be wise or gentle, but its the adjectival verb which governs the whole phrase. In short it means the action of being gentle is eventually what you would do while you keep your serpentine wisdom in check, but you must have that wisdom first.
Doves are an interesting bunch believe me. They eat seeds and fruits, They fly avoiding strong currents, they watch out for each other when they fly in flocks, they don't destroy other birds nest, they are peaceful and co-habituate with humans. Doves are also loyal, to a fault i might add.
If you provide seeds every morning at the front of your yard to feed them, they will always come back to the same place irrespective of where they fly to.
Among the "Yoruba" tribe, the dove is said to be messenger of good tidings to the house it perches on and same as the symbol of peace and holiness among the Jews and other spiritual sects.
After all said and done, we have just finished from the school of serpent and dove. Now back to my trust in man.
As a good child of GOD, am sure some people are snorting their noses upwards, but let me continue. As a good child of GOD i have to soak in my serpent wisdom and act out my dove like character. Based on that i have to trust man. Yes, i have to trust man to know what he will do when he is under the influence of the forces of nature.
I have to know that if i leave a bag of $2,000,000 at "Oshodi" bus park and come back in 3 minutes i won't find it. If i get a call from "Man" begging for a $5000 loan to be paid back in a week, i won't get that money back till i get debt collector. I have to know and trust "Man" to understand if he says "oh trust me" i shouldn't. I have enough trust in "Man" to predict his actions based on the natural fundamentals of greed, hunger, jealously, rage, and lust.
Oh my friends, i trust "Man", its the devil in them i don't trust.
Thanking LORD JESUS for the instruction of serpent and dove, i am glad i know what serpents do and i'm more glad i grew feathers to flock together with doves.
The knowledge of what you should not do is equally as important as the knowledge of what to do.
As my lawyer and police friends always say, "ignorance of the law is no excuse to break them"
The picture was taken by me years ago, and i marveled at how the guy on the jet ski had so much trust in it , he rode it into the endless sea disappearing into the sunset.
Stay blessed .
